“We are fortunate to have had founders that were visionary, humanitarians, and community activists. When I think of the thousands of individuals that have played an integral role in the growth and vitality of our mission that still resonates strongly today – I am in awe. Throughout our 125 years, Gillette has been a pillar in our community, serving and advocating for a population that is so often overlooked in our society.”

When asked what she appreciates most about Gillette Children’s, Barbara pauses. “There are so many things that I love about Gillette, but what I appreciate most is the people. We are so lucky to have incredibly talented people across our organization – from the clinical team members to those in non-clinical roles – we are all steadfast in our accountability to serving our patients and our families. This staunch commitment across an organization is rare, but at Gillette Children’s it is common.”

“I am energized when I think about Gillette Children’s future. Our focus will always be on our mission, while assuring we are relevant to our patients and families, referring providers, team members, and community. It will be hard but rewarding work to channel our collective wisdom and expertise to innovate what we do and how we do it. So I’m most excited about opening our hearts and minds to forge a path forward together, to plan for generations to come.”
